How to write roast bars that land
The Street Cypher verse above uses two small habits and ends with affection. Keep the joke specific enough for the person to recognize it.
- Give each person one harmless habit. Jay gets two lines about arriving late; Nia gets one about burnt cooking. Two unrelated complaints in one line leave too little room for a punchline.
- Replace a judgment with a scene. “We tell him noon and then we sit around and wait” shows the lateness. Put the setup first and the image or payoff at the end of the line.
- Save the fourth line for a sincere landing. “We still love you both” tells the recipients how to read the joke. Ask them about the exact habit before uploading their photos.
A friendly roast starts with agreement
Ask your friend whether they want to be in the video and whether the topic is fair game. Permission to use a photo is not permission to embarrass someone publicly. Agree on the joke and the audience before you make it.

Can I use this to roast someone who has not agreed?
No. Friendly roasts require agreement. Harassment and attacks on private people who did not agree are blocked. Keep the topic playful and get permission for the photos and the intended sharing.
Can the roast feature a celebrity or a minor?
No. Real celebrities, public figures and minors are not allowed. Use only photos of consenting adults and an original, harmless topic.
Can I read the diss lyrics before rendering?
Yes. A funded account can preview four lines before spending 10 credits on the video. Check that the joke is consensual and playful. Our Street Cypher sample pairs lateness and burnt cooking with an affectionate ending.
What makes a good friendly-roast topic?
Pick a harmless shared habit, such as a friend always arriving late, and end warmly. Avoid private information, appearance and sensitive experiences. Agree on both the joke and its audience first.
Can I post a friendly roast on TikTok?
Yes. Download the MP4 and upload it to TikTok. The file carries an embedded AI-generated metadata tag; also turn on TikTok’s AI-generated content setting when posting, and follow its Community Guidelines. Posting is your choice; the generator does not publish for you.
Are credits returned if the render fails?

How to keep a roast friendly when you post it
Show the finished clip privately to the person in the joke before choosing an audience. Permission to use a photo is not permission to post it to every follower. Ask about the actual clip and where it will appear.
Give strangers the context your friends already have. A caption can explain that this is an agreed, playful roast; leave out private locations, employers and embarrassing backstories. Keep the warm ending instead of cutting the video down to its sharpest line.
